For routine cleaning of khoos, brush off or vacuum as much of the surface dirt as you can. Then wash it with a soft brush and soapy water. Rinse well and let the piece dry outdoors in the sun.
Khoos is a natural material and helps prevent mildew. A mild oil-based soap mixed with water will generally remove mildew. Ensuring a khoos piece dries well after a cleaning in the sun or use a fan to speed up dry time.
