Fanoos Kilim Wall Art
Walking through the streets of Cairo a few days before Ramadan gives you a rush from the aroma and, as an Egyptian, it brings back many fond memories. During the Holy month of Ramadan, Egyptians had a custom of placing a little lamp called a "Fanoos" in each home in the hands of each child in the family.
Every Ramadan night, kids used to congregate, sing songs, and play with their tiny lanterns. Egypt has had a Fanoos in every home during Ramadan up until this point. Here we visualise thoughts, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
